As the title suggests, Melancholia is the the darkest sounding album in the Qualia catalogue so far. Sparse atmospheres and noise punctuate much of the album, focusing more in distorted textures and (mostly) departing from the piano-led music established on the previous 'Vignettes' and 'Ecliptic' releases.
