International country music singer/songwriter, WALKER IKARD, returns with an EXCITING new CD, "I'm Gonna Write a Song about Mama".
Ikard shocked the music world when his last CD, "Nothin' but a Rat Race", shot to the top of the music charts with 5 #1 hits in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other areas around the world.
Walker Ikard, a down-to-earth, Alabama country boy, has produced a terrific new CD of 10 great songs, which are a blend of traditional and modern country, gospel and bluegrass sounds that should appeal to young and old alike.
Walker is the son of former world-known singer, OSIE "WHITAKER" IKARD. The late OSIE WHITAKER and her late sister, EXIE WHITAKER, once sang as the "WHITAKER SISTERS" on WBHP radio in Huntsville, Alabama. The "WHITAKER SISTERS" touched the hearts of their many fans with their beautiful harmony singing.
Walker bought his first guitar at the age of 12 and with the major influence of his mother, Osie, learned how to play the guitar and piano, write songs and perform on stage.
Ikard has been associated over the years with some of the biggest music stars in the music business like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Bill Anderson, Gene Watson, Marty Robbins, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, Wynonna Judd and many others.
Walker, who is a shy individual by nature turns into a dynamic performer on stage, along with his black acoustic guitar. His singing style and stage movements often remind one of Elvis Presley. But Walker's fans know he is a very versatile singer who has his own unique down-home country sound, which go back to his Alabama roots.
Walker Ikard's music career has taken him down many winding roads, including a major interview on the famous WSM radio in Nashville, Tennessee, by Grand Ole Opry stars, Harial Hensley and Grant Turner. Hensley and Turner were fascinated by the multi-talented Ikard's musical success as a singer, songwriter and performer, since most singers don't find success in all these areas.
Although Walker Ikard has found major success in his music career, he has remained a down-to-earth country boy with just another country song to write and sing.
You can hear Walker's mixture of modern and traditional country, gospel and bluegrass on his wonderful new CD, "I'm Gonna Write a Song about Mama", which includes some great lead guitar, bass guitar, piano, banjo and back-up harmony sounds. Walker wrote and dedicated the title track, "I'm Gonna Write a Song about Mama", to his own mother, Osie Whitaker Ikard. But Walker says, "Every mother should relate to this beautiful song".
Walker wants to thank all his fans who have played his songs, bought his CD's and supported his music career for so long in the USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other areas around the world. Thanks so much to all radio DJ's who have played Walker's songs on the radio. Finally, we appreciate all those many fans who never forgot the music and singing of the "WHITAKER SISTERS", Osie and Exie Whitaker.
Walker Ikard would love to hear from all of you.
